Simple tips for fixing static hair

For girls with long hair who spend a lot of time in air-conditioned environments, you may have experienced static in your hair — so much so that if you hold a balloon near your hair, the strands would fly up and cling to the balloon.

Static hair tends to occur more often when the air is very dry, as your hair loses moisture, making it dry and prone to frizzing. Here are some simple ways to deal with static hair.

1. Reduce shampooing frequency.

To allow more natural oil to build up in your hair, try shampooing less. Especially if you shampoo every day, try switching to 3–4 times a week.

2. Use conditioner for extra moisture.

When hair is very dry, use conditioner after shampooing to help seal the hair cuticle and prevent further moisture loss.

3. Try switching from a plastic comb to a wooden comb.

A wooden comb is a natural product that helps reduce static in hair better than a plastic comb, which can actually increase static. With just these simple steps, you can reduce the problem of dry, frizzy, static hair — and your hair will look weightier and more beautiful even in cool, air-conditioned conditions.
